Unwired Australia Selects Venturi Wireless to Optimize Pre-WiMAX Network

 Venturi Optimization Solution Enhances Customer Experience and Network Efficiency for One of World’s Largest Portable Broadband Wireless Networks

SUNNYVALE, Calif.—October 11 , 2006—Venturi Wireless, a global provider of mobile and wireless broadband services optimization, today announced an agreement with Unwired Australia, one of the world’s largest pre-WiMAX network operators, to deploy Venturi’s V5000 Optimization Engine and VClient computer optimization software. The deal follows several months of performance testing on the Unwired network and marks the first ever broadband services optimization deployment in a portable wireless broadband network, validating both Venturi’s interoperability with the WiMAX technology family and the benefit Venturi’s Adaptive Airlink Optimization™ provides to even the fastest 4G wireless networks.

Venturi’s Adaptive Airlink Optimization™ is a cross-layer technology that leverages the company’s patented Venturi Transport Protocol (VTP) to speed the delivery of data over wireless IP networks. By using a combination of VTP, Smart Compression and other techniques, Venturi is able to monitor available bandwidth and apply the ideal optimization technique for maximum application performance and network efficiency, even under the most challenging radio frequency conditions. As network speeds increase, the relative contribution of VTP to overall optimization performance increases, making Venturi a natural choice for 3G and 4G network optimization.

Venturi recently announced that Reliance Communications, India’s largest CDMA operator, and Tata Teleservices have deployed Venturi’s optimization solution.
