World’s Largest Offshore Wireless Network Deploys Venturi Optimization

SUNNYVALE, Calif., April 19, 2006-Venturi Wireless, a global provider of 3G mobile optimization solutions, today announced that PetroCom has deployed the Venturi optimization solution within its offshore cellular network. A leading provider of telecommunications and network solutions to the oil and gas exploration/production and maritime industries, PetroCom operates a 100,000-square-mile GSM network in the Gulf of Mexico and maintains a variety of onshore/offshore satellite networks both domestically and internationally. In the implementation, Venturi Wireless is optimizing PetroCom’s GPRS/EDGE network to ensure reliable and fast delivery of critical ship-to-shore data communications.
