SUNNYVALE, Calif., January 30,

the company is expanding its expertise and focus in
the mobile consumer applications and multimedia arenas.
Venturi has appointed Larry Slotnick as vice president
of engineering and Rikard Kjellberg as vice president
of products.
Leveraging their experiences at Palmsource, Apple,
and Openwave, Slotnick and Kjellberg will spearhead
product development and provide leading-edge optimization
solutions for mobile consumer applications and wireless
devices such as native phones, smart phones, and PDAs.

Former Palm, Apple, and Openwave Executives
Bring Extensive Industry Experience
As Venturi's vice president of engineering, Larry
Slotnick leads the development, quality assurance,
and technical publications teams. Prior to Venturi,
Slotnick served as Palmsource's chief products officer,
responsible for the evolution of the award-winning
and industry-defining Palm OS. Slotnick has also held
engineering executive and management roles at Octel
Communications, Convergent Technologies, and wireless
and handset software startup Pixo. Under Slotnick's
leadership as vice president of Internet and enterprise
products at Apple Computer, teams delivered the MacOS
X Server, WebObjects, and the internet functionality
of the iMac-products pivotal to Apple's resurgence.
Rikard Kjellberg heads Venturi's product management
and product marketing for the wireless carrier segment.
Kjellberg previously served as director of product
management at Openwave Systems, where he was responsible
for product lines in the wireless carrier segment.
Kjellberg is the co-founder and former chief technology
officer (CTO) of Ellipsus Systems, a producer of digital-content
retail solutions for wireless service providers. As
CTO at the Swedish Space Corporation and SAAB TransponderTech
AB, he helped design a new mobile and wireless communication
product, drove global adoption through standardization
efforts, and developed a new wireless device market.
